John Locke-Connor

John Locke was born in England on august 29th 1932 and died 0ctober 28th 1704. John Locke lived through the glorious revolution which took place in 1688-1689.  This influenced his views on government. These views said that everyone had natural rights and no one had the divine right to rule. Locke believed that humans were good and cooperative. I believe that Locke was the best Philosopher of his time and helped shape our government. Locke lived through and important time of our history and understood humans and there rights.

Locke believed everyone would be better off living in a peaceful state of nature. In this peaceful state of nature everyone had natural rights. These rights were also better off if everyone respected them and each other’s rights. If there was a problem they could solve it by respecting one another’s rights. Locke was not a strong believer in government and authority.

Locke argued that creating a society was a natural step for humans. The environment that people were raised in was the way they acted, if they were raised in a society that did not act like humans then they would not act like humans. According to Locke a baby was a blank chalk board waiting to be written on.   The only way for a society to become organized and successful was for the society to have a social contract to fulfil the society s needs and to protect property and natural rights.  However, any organized society that does not follow these rules will become erupt unless the people get consent. If the ruler is not giving people what they want the, society could rebel against the ruler and replace him.

Locke believed that laws and rules would just cause chaos. But did believe in natural laws, but with no humans being able to enforce these laws there must be alignment reason for punishment. He thought punishment was equal to what right was disrespected (eye for an eye).  Everyone was also incent till proven guilty no one was treated unfairly. Locke Believed Laws were only there to limit a person’s actions to protect another person

For those reason I know that john Locke was the best philosopher who ever lived and you should think that to. Locke understood people and respected them, but most of all he believed in them. If you would want to be bossed around and treated like nothing then you should believe that Hobbes was a great philosopher but when we all know he wasn’t.
